Tyler Freeman grounded into 15 double plays and was hit by 19 pitches in 2024, the first player in franchise history to reach at least 15 in each category.
The quirky stat line has been achieved only 55 times in MLB history, with Minnie Minoso the first to do so in 1955.
Despite the rarity of the stat line, there does appear to be a “skill” in it, as four players have done it at least three times: Minoso, Alex Rodriguez, Anthony Rizzo and Jose Abreu. Only Abreu has done it four times.
