Josh Bell’s Multi-HR Game

Josh Bell belted two home runs for the Diamondbacks against the Guardians on Wednesday. Dating back to 1990, its the 15th time a former member of the team had a multi-home run game against Cleveland.

Miller’s multi-homer performance is perhaps the most unique on the list as it occurred in the same season in which he played for Cleveland.

20 HR before the break

Over the past two games, and each hit their 20th home run of the season.

It’s the first time anyone for Cleveland reached 20 home runs before the All-Star Game since 2018 and the seventh time in franchise history multiple players reached 20 homers before the break:

Kwan since IL return

In 11 games since returning from the IL, is batting .535. Not only is it an impressive performance immediately following an IL stint, its the the third highest batting average in a single-season 11-game span for Cleveland since 1994.

Here’s the leaderboard in that span with a minimum of 40 PA and excluding overlapping streaks:

Justice’s 1997 season appears on here twice. It was two separate streaks with no overlapping games, one in May and another in August.

Bating over .350 thru 40 games

Steven Kwan is the 47th player in franchise history to bat .350 or higher through 40 team games with enough PA to qualify for the batting title. The record is .450 by Shoeless in 1913.

The most recent players over .350 through 40 games:

Josh Naylor’s First Half RBI

Josh Naylor closed out the first half with 64 RBI, tied for 27th most in franchise history before the break. Obviously most of the players ahead of him on that list made the All-Star team.

Naylor is the 10th player in franchise history with at least 64 RBI to not be selected to the game. The list:

Hafner, Trosky and Horton never ended up making any All-Star team.
