Daniel Schneemann struck out 70 times in just 221 PA this season. It was the third most Ks franchise history by a player with fewer than 225 PA.

The list:

Thomas reached 65 in just 187 PA, tying Branyan’s 2002 season for the most strikeouts with fewer than 200 PA.

Noel’s Pinch-Hit HR

‘s belted Cleveland’s fourth pinch-hit go-ahead home run of the season on Saturday afternoon, setting a team record. , and hit the first three.

The previous record of three was set in 1967 by (twice) and .

Noel is also just the sixth rookie in team history with a pinch-hit, go-ahead home run. The others:

Hardy, Davis and Wilson’s were their first career home runs. Hardy’s was a walk-off against Chicago’s 7-time All-Star pitcher Billy Pierce.

Davis’ home run was also a walk-off and the only home run of his career,

Jhonkensy Noel Homers in First At-Bat

Kouzmanoff’s home run was famously a grand slam on the first pitch of his career.

Noel also wore No. 43 in his debut, a common number in team history but rarely by hitters. Noel is just the third position player to wear No. 43, joining in 1959 and in 1991. Jh

Jhonkensy Noel’s Power

In 2022, Jhonkensy Noel became the third player since 1990 to lead the Cleveland farm system in home runs under the age of 21. Noel hit 32 home runs at Lake County and Akron (he also played a few games in Columbus, but did not homer).

The others were Bobby Bradley in 2015 (27 home runs at age 19) and Russell Branyan (40 at age 20).

Prior to Branyan, the feat hadn’t been accomplished since Tom Anderson, the team’s 1978 first-round pick, led farm system in homers in 1978 (22 at age 19) and 1979 (30 at age 20).

Anderson never made it to the majors and in 1980 ended up in the San Francisco Giants farm system. I was unable to track down the transaction which sent him there – it certainly seems like an odd move for a recent first-round pick displaying power in the minors, but by 1982 he was out of the game.
