Stephen Vogt has started his career as a manager with a 3-0 mark, the first Cleveland manager to start 3-0 since Pat Corrales in July 1983, after replacing Mike Ferraro.
Cleveland has scored 26 runs during the hot start to Vogt’s career, surpassing the 25 scored during Corrales’ three games.
The Guardians scored 26 runs through the first three games of the season in Oakland, tied for the second most through three games in franchise history.
The record was 27 runs by the 1936 Indians. They also scored 26 runs in 1922 and 1977.
This is also just the third team in franchise history to start 3-0 with at least 25 runs scored, joining the 1998 and 1922 teams.
Andres Gimenez reached base 5 times in Friday’s win at Oakland. It was just the 10th time in franchise history someone has reached base at least 5 times in either the first or second game of the season.

Steven Kwan won his second Gold Glove in 2023, just his second year in the majors. He joined Ichiro Suzuki and Nolan Arenado as the only players to win a Gold Glove in each of their first two seasons in the majors. Both Ichiro and Arenado would win 10 consecutive Gold Gloves to start their careers.

He’ll be the first Cleveland manager to have faced a member of his roster since Eric Wedge managed Arthur Rhodes in 2005. Wedge (as a member of the Red Sox) went 1-2 with a double and a walk against Rhodes (with the Orioles) during a game in 1992.
