The Guardians hit six home runs in Sunday’s win over the Reds by five different players.

It was just the sixth time since moving into Jacobs Field in 1994 that the team had five different players homer in the same game:

He’s the 15th player in franchise history with four hits and a grand slam in a game, and the first since 2010

3 Hits and a HR from the Leadoff Spot

On Sunday against the A’s, Angel Martinez collected three hits and a home run while filling in for Steven Kwan as the leadoff hitter. He’s the third different leadoff hitter to collect three hits including a homer this year, joining Kwan (twice) and Lane Thomas.

It’s the 10th season in team history in which three or more different leadoff hitters have accomplished the feat. The others:

The Guardians beat the Astros 10-6 on Tuesday thanks to a 10th-inning grand slam by Angel Martinez off of Josh Hader that barely snuck into the Crawford Boxes in Houston.

It was the eighth go-ahead extra-inning grand slam in team history. The others:

On Wednesday, Angel Martinez hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the 8th inning of the Guardians 7-4 win over the Dodgers, the team’s first go-ahead home run in the 8th inning or later against the defending champs since 2019.

Angel Martinez collected two hits today against the White Sox. He’s played in just three games and already has two career multi-hit games.

He’s just the 23rd player in team history with multiple multi-hit games within his first three games. Only Riggs Stevenson in 1921 accomplished the feat in all three games.

Angel Martinez made his MLB debut today against the Blue Jays, making him and his father Sandy Martinez the seventh father/son duo in franchise history. Sandy played one game in 2004 starting at catcher for the injured Victor Martinez.
