DeLauter’s first hit

In his second career game, collected his first career hit in Game 3 of the AL Wild Card round against Detroit.

He joins (in Game 6 of the 1997 World Series) as the only players in franchise history to collect their first career hit in the postseason.

Fewest career hits before first postseason hit:

DeLauter is also the 18th rookie in franchise history with a postseason hit, 10 of which have occurred since the 2022 season.

George Valera’s first postseason home run

In the first inning of Game 2 of the ALWC, gave the Guardians a 1-0 with his first career postseason home run.

Valera, who made his major league debut in September, had just two career home runs prior to his first playoff homer.

That ties pitcher (who homered in the 1920 World Series) for the team record for fewest homers before hitting a home run in the playoffs.

The next fewest belong to (three), (five) and (five).
