Opening Day catcher in 2010 and served as primary starter prior to Carlos Santana making his debut in July. Santana’s primary backup in 2011 and 2012.
Played in 2008 Olympics, while still a member of the Phillies, winning the bronze medal.
Viewed as a strong defensive catcher at the time, though more modern stats somewhat dispute that reputation.

Catchers with Double and Triple

Bo Naylor collected a double and a triple last night at Baltimore. His triple was the first by a Cleveland catcher since Roberto Perez in July 2019 at Kansas City.

Collecting a couple and a triple is even more rare for a catcher, as its happened just four time since 1980:

2024 – Naylor
2012 – Lou Marson
1991 – Luis Lopez
1984 – Jerry Willard

Bo Naylor’s First Start

Bo Naylor made his first career start at catcher last night, making him Cleveland’s youngest starting catcher since Lou Marson in 2009.

Over the last 50 seasons, only Marson, Eddie Taubensee and Rick Cerone have started at catcher at a younger age than Naylor.
