• Acquired from White Sox in December, 1990 along with SP Eric King in exchange for OF Cory Snyder and a minor leaguer.
• After Doug Jones struggled early in 1991, Hillegas was named closer for a two month period until he was also demoted and replaced by Steve Olin in July. Converted five of six saves while serving as the primary closer and finished the season with seven saves.
• Converted to a starter at the end of 1991 and posted a 3.68 ERA in three starts with the Tribe winning all three games.
• Made two career starts against Cleveland, with his teams going 0-2, making the Indians 5-0 in games started by Hillegas either for or against the Tribe.
• Placed on waivers following the 1991 season and selected by the Blue Jays.
