Scoring Twice on Wild Pitches

The Guardians scored twice on wild pitches in Wednesday’s win over the Rangers, off pitches from MacKenzie Gore and Winston Santos.

It’s just the eighth time since 2000 they’ve scored on wild pitches twice in the same game:

The Guardians hit six home runs in Sunday’s win over the Reds by five different players.

It was just the sixth time since moving into Jacobs Field in 1994 that the team had five different players homer in the same game:

Jose Ramirez belted two home runs on Sunday afternoon as Cleveland shutout the White Sox behind and the bullpen.

Dating back to 2000, it was the 16th time a Cleveland hitter had a multi-homer game in a shutout, and the fifth time it has involved Ramirez.

David Fry Pitches vs Cubs

Rookie utilityman David Fry pitched the ninth inning against the Cubs, retiring Mike Tauchman, Nico Hoerner and Christopher Morel in order.

He’s the seventh position player in franchise history to pitch and not allow a base runner, joining:

Carnett deserves an asterisk of sorts, as he was a fulltime position player in 1945, but had been a pitcher in the minor leagues up until 1943.
