In the Guardians 50th game of the season on Tuesday night, Erik Sabrowski picked up his 17 save of the season, tying him with JoJo Romero of the 2017 Cardinals for the second most in MLB history.
The record is 18, set by the Pirates’ Mark Melancon in 2013.
The previous franchise record was 13 by Vinnie Pestano (2013), Andrew Miller (2017) and Hunter Gaddis (2025).
Last night against Arizona, Hunter Gaddis picked up his 25th hold of the season.
Gaddis also collected 33 holds last year, making him the sixth pitcher in team history with 25 holds in two seasons joining:
No one has reached 25 holds three times for Cleveland.
Hunter Gaddis appeared in each of the Guardians first three games, the first pitcher to do so since Joe Smith, Vinnie Pestano and Chris Perez each appeared in the first three games of the 2012 season.
