In the Guardians 50th game of the season on Tuesday night, Erik Sabrowski picked up his 17 save of the season, tying him with JoJo Romero of the 2017 Cardinals for the second most in MLB history.
The record is 18, set by the Pirates’ Mark Melancon in 2013.
The previous franchise record was 13 by Vinnie Pestano (2013), Andrew Miller (2017) and Hunter Gaddis (2025).
Although injuries delayed his season debut until late June, Erik Sabrowski became the 42nd player in franchise history with at least 30 appearances to post an ERA under 2.00.
Sabrowski finished the year with a 1.84 ERA in 33 games.
He’s also the 10th rookie on the list.

Six Guardians pitchers combined for a shutout of the Rockies on Wednesday: Kolby Allard, Matt Festa, Jakob Junis, Nic Enright, Hunter Gaddis and Cade Smith.
It was the seventh time in franchise history at least six pitchers combined on a shutout and the fifth time in a nine-inning game.
