The Nationals helped Tanner Bibee tie a franchise record on Monday night, belting five home runs off Cleveland’s starter.
Bibee joins Hunter Gaddis (2022 vs CHW), Luis Tiant (1969 at BOS) and Gary Bell (1962 vs MIN) as the only players in franchise history to allow five home runs in a single game.
Bibee is the first player in franchise history to allow five home runs within the first three innings of the game.
It was also the second time Bibee has allowed four homers in a game.
Bibee is one of just 11 pitchers in franchise history with multiple 4-HR outings, joining:
